Cache Valley Gardeners' Market Poster 2026

The mission of Cache Valley Gardeners’ Market is to educate consumers about sustainable agriculture and healthy foods, provide a source of revenue for local farmers and artisans, and create a vital community gathering place for all ages.

Design Process

When designing this poster, I wanted to capture a welcoming, rustic, and organic feeling. In my iterations, you can see how that idea evolves from a simplified color scheme to a more natural, balanced scene.

	Version 1: I started with a simple 4-color palette. The primary colors feel family-friendly and energetic. I made the hand blue to keep with the palette, but it felt too cold and strange for the event.
	Version 2: I changed to a more natural tone for the hand and added more dimension to the tomatoes. I moved the blue to the bracelet which felt like a better choice to tie the text and graphic together.
	Version 3: At the request of my client, I removed the link to saabra.org. This meant some slight adjustments to the layout, like moving the tomato branch up and the other link down below. I shortened the nails to be less feminine and added a sleeve to avoid the person looking too natural.
	Version 4: I tried to fix some balancing with the spacing and changed the hummingbird to red so it was more clearly the apostrophe in Gardeners'. Finally, before sending in the final design for printing, I made some last adjustments and added my signature.
